Job Description:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Patient Care Assistant (PCA) to join our healthcare team. The PCA will provide essential support to patients and medical staff by assisting with daily living activities, monitoring patient conditions, and ensuring a comfortable and safe healthcare environment. The ideal candidate will have a passion for patient care, strong communication skills, and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

1. Direct Patient Care

  • Assist patients with daily living activities, such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and feeding.
  • Support mobility by helping patients walk, move, or transfer from beds to wheelchairs.
  • Monitor and record vital signs, including temperature, blood pressure, pulse, and respiration.
  • Report any changes in patient condition to nurses or healthcare providers.

2. Medical Assistance & Support

  • Assist with basic medical procedures under the supervision of a nurse or doctor.
  • Help patients with medication reminders and ensure they follow prescribed treatments.
  • Prepare and clean patient rooms, ensuring hygiene and comfort.
  • Assist in collecting and transporting laboratory specimens when needed.

3. Patient Comfort & Emotional Support

  • Provide companionship and emotional support to patients.
  • Respond to patient calls and requests in a timely manner.
  • Maintain patient dignity and confidentiality at all times.

4. Documentation & Compliance

  • Maintain accurate records of patient care activities and report any concerns.
  • Ensure compliance with healthcare facility policies and safety regulations.
  • Follow proper infection control procedures to maintain a safe environment.
Qualifications

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent; certification as a Nursing Assistant (CNA) is a plus.
  • Experience: [Specify required experience, e.g., 1+ years in a healthcare or caregiving setting].
  • Skills:
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and provide compassionate care.
