Job Description:

We are seeking a responsible and compassionate Medical Transport Aide to assist in the safe and efficient transportation of patients to and from healthcare facilities, homes, and other medical locations. The ideal candidate should be physically fit, have excellent communication skills, and be able to provide support to patients during transport.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

1. Safe Patient Transportation

Assist in transporting patients between hospitals, clinics, nursing homes, rehabilitation centers, and residences.
Ensure patients are safely seated or secured in wheelchairs, stretchers, or other mobility devices.
Help lift, transfer, and position patients as needed, ensuring comfort and safety.

2. Patient Assistance & Care

Provide courteous and professional assistance to patients, ensuring their needs are met during transport.
Assist patients with entering and exiting vehicles safely.
Offer reassurance and emotional support, particularly for elderly or disabled individuals.

3. Vehicle & Equipment Maintenance

Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards of the transport vehicle.
Ensure wheelchairs, stretchers, and medical transport equipment are in good condition.
Report any mechanical issues or safety concerns to supervisors.

4. Compliance & Safety

Follow all safety protocols and infection control procedures.
Adhere to traffic laws, emergency response procedures, and patient confidentiality regulations.
Communicate effectively with dispatchers, healthcare staff, and patients’ families.

5. Documentation & Reporting

Maintain accurate records of patient transport details, including pick-up and drop-off times.
Report any incidents, delays, or patient concerns to the appropriate medical personnel.
Ensure proper documentation of patient conditions and any assistance provided.

Qualifications

Qualifications & Requirements:

Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
License & Certification:
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record (if required for vehicle operation).
- CPR and First Aid certification (preferred).
- Training in patient handling and mobility assistance (preferred).
Experience: [Specify required experience, e.g., 1+ years in patient transport, healthcare assistance, or related field].
Skills:
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to handle physically demanding tasks, including lifting and transferring patients.
